I can still remember the great year of 1992. It is hard to believe that it has been nearly 24 years since our USA Olympic “Dream Team” was put together.
I can remember that all the sports radio shows were talking about this. It was so cool at the time to be able to see Michael Jordan, Charles Barkley, Larry Bird, John Stockton and Karl Malone playing on the same team.
The team was coached by the late legendary coach Chuck Daly. As the ’92 Olympics unfolded, our DREAM TEAM absolutely destroyed other countries. We won most of the games by 40 points or more.
And basketball card companies took notice as they produced USA Olympic Dream Team cards. Like the one that is for sale here.
It is the McDonald’s 1991-92 NBA Hoops USA Basketball Card. It is #62 of the set and the front of the card shows our great NBA players that killed the opponents.
This card was only available when you bought a Meal Deal from McDonald’s making it a rare card. You could not get this card in factory boxes or packs.
On the front of this card, you can see Michael Jordan, Larry Bird, Patrick Ewing, Scottie Pippen, Chris Mullin, John Stockton, Magic Johnson, Charles Barkley, David Robinson, Karl Malone and head coach Chuck Daly.
