Sam Vincent 1990-91 Hoops Error Card #223.
The Sam Vincent 1990-91 Hoops error card has a very unique story behind it.
Back in February of 1990, Michael Jordan and the Chicago Bulls were playing Sam Vincent’s Orlando Magic.
Before the game, Jordan’s game jersey was stolen from the locker room. Not having another uniform to wear, Michael Jordan ended up wearing the #12 Jersey top in this game.
As you can see in the photo on the front of this card, Jordan is wearing the #12.
As the story goes, Hoops pulled this card from circulation and replaced it with another Sam Vincent card. The reason Hoops pulled the card was because they did not want to make the Nike Company upset.
You see, Jordan had a contract with Nike for his #23 jersey number. So, this card features the only game where Michael Jordan is not wearing his famous #23. A really cool story.
This Vincent error card is number 223 of the 90-91 Hoops basketball card set.
